Santa Clara Meditation Self Help – What can I learn/know right now in 10 minutes that will be useful for the rest of my life?
Would it be a secret sauce-making technique that can revive boring dishes? Would it be enough language ability to ask for help if you got lost in the market in Mumbai, India? Or would it be a survival skill to help you survive a disaster? Or a sixth sense that allows you to distinguish a good person from a bad person on sight?
Ten minutes is a really short time. I have always been a person that tried to cram all kinds of knowledge into my mind thinking, “I might need it someday.” With the social isolation due to the pandemic, I have become addicted to the internet and have been experiencing a flood of information.
The best way I found to spend 10 minutes is to do meditation. Ten minutes of meditation is enough to change your entire outlook on the day and eventually on your life. The meditation I have been doing is really easy and logical. You can learn it in 10 minutes.
As a parent and teacher, I teach meditation to middle school children. We have a class period of 40 minutes. Thirty minutes is a recreation period, and then for only 10 minutes I teach meditation. Most children say that after meditation, their minds feel lighter, and they feel much calmer.
My own children also meditate. My children often can’t concentrate for long or sit cross-legged or even sit in a chair without distraction. I guide them to meditate while lying in bed before sleeping, and 5 minutes is enough. I start by suggesting to them to throw away pictures they are holding from the day. Such as when they had a fight with their friends or were stressed out at school. Releasing all those pictures before going to sleep, then they throw away angry and negative minds with meditation. After just this short meditation they fall asleep fast and sleep well. Since doing this meditation practice, I wake up the next morning feeling like it’s a new morning that has never existed in the world before. My heart feels like it is full of the sunlight. I can see too that my children wake up with a much more positive attitude as well.
I’ve posted a video below in case it might be helpful. I hope it helps. Do not forget it. The age of addition is now out of date. This is the age of subtraction seriously consider it and you will see the results.
