Master Woo Myung Truth’s Answer – What is the meaning of the Buddhist phrase, “Everything comes from the mind.”?
Everything produced by the human mind is false because it is not Truth. The mind in the phrase “Everything comes from the mind”, refers to the mind of the Universe. This mind is our Mother which created all things and brought forth all creations. Commonly people confuse the mind in this phrase as being their own minds, but it is speaking of the mind of the original self.
The mind of the original self is omnipotent and omniscient; everything in the world is made by this mind. It exists without form, and it exists amidst non-existence. When man sees this mind with his inner eyes or mind’s eyes, it has a bluish hue and exists as a sticky substance. Thus it cannot be said that it exists, and neither can it be said that it does not exist. It is therefore Truth. This mind is the mother of all creations in the Universe, which is why in Buddhism it is said that “Everything comes from the mind”.
