Master Woo Myung Writing – The Real and the False
I hear a man coughing in the early morning darkness. On his back he carries manure over the hill to the fields. This is an example of the life of a diligent man.
When I was young it was a time of poverty. Many people had lots of children but there was not enough food or clothes. My mother would always scold me, “Diligent people are already out of their beds and working in the fields” and “Don’t be lazy.”
As a youth I was without direction. I was not satisfied with the world. I had no money because my family was poor, and I had no social advantages because I had no reputation. It was a time when the rich and the sycophants received recognition and advancement. Even government aid was available only to those with connections. I knew I was not clever or talented, so I worked hard and tried to be diligent, and eventually became wealthy. Although I lived well, I did not like who I was; a person who just ate, and lived only for my body. I was always curious about where humans came from, why they live and where they go. I concluded that the one lifetime I have here in this world could not be all there is. The life of a human being is so meaningless and vain. I felt there had to be a different way of living, more than just living this life in such futility. I knew that just living in this world is not all there is to human life. I had questions about why saints are saints and why ordinary people just pass away in van.
Such questions about the ways of the world and numerous other questions were all solved when my self died and my mind became the original nature. I was reborn from a narrow human mind to the mind of the Creator. I realized I was Truth, and that I had to let people in the world know Truth and become Truth. It was bewildering for it would be the most difficult task in the world. So for a year I wrote and studied about Truth, while managing my private school. When I started teaching Truth to people, I realized that becoming Truth is more difficult than plucking a star from the sky.
Before I became Truth, I knew I was the worst person in the world. I could not laugh heartily and I always scolded myself. While getting people to truly repent, I found that people live without knowing that they are sinners; they live with a two-faced mind that hides the fact that they are the worst person in the world.
People are sinners because they have a self-centered mind. People are sinners because they are not one with Truth. All who do not become Truth are sinners.
People who become Truth are those who, through repentance, are reborn as new people of human completion. When people give themselves to Truth, and when their body and mind are reborn as Truth, all are one as Truth; there is no death.
People do not know what Truth is and what falseness is. Truth knows both Truth and falseness. However, falseness knows neither falseness nor Truth. People do not know what Truth is, nor do they know what is deceiving them. When they have a bigger mind and become Truth, they will know the wisdom of the world and will live without death. If one cannot become real in the place where he goes in order to become real, then that place is a false, heretical cult.
Ask yourself whether or not you are real now. If you are not real right now, you cannot go to the kingdom of Truth and you cannot live because you are not Truth. A person who is false, in other words a fake person who is not true, will live in the fake world, which is an illusion; and there will be only death because that world is fake and does not exist.
